Turning real spaces into digital clarity.

Why Reality:Ratio Was Created

Reality:Ratio was built on a simple belief:
accurate spatial data only becomes valuable when people can truly use it.

Many organisations invest in scanning, mapping, or digital twin technologies — but the value often stops with the capture. Data is handed over, but teams are left without tools, guidance, or workflows to turn that data into real operational impact.

Reality:Ratio exists to close that gap.

We don’t just scan spaces — we help businesses understand, apply, and benefit from the information we capture.

The Problem We Set Out to Solve

The industry was fragmented. Scanners delivered files, software companies delivered tools, and consultants delivered advice - but nobody brought it all together.

Teams struggled with:

  • Files too large or technical

  • No clear workflow

  • Lack of support

  • Lost opportunities because the data stayed unused

Reality:Ratio was created to bring scanning, digital tools, and practical integration together into one seamless service.

Founder

Digital Explorer

I’ve spent the past 25 years working in digital environments, starting out in the world of interactive Building Management Systems in complex hospitals and office buildings. From there, I moved into CAD and dynamic simulation software, creating detailed 3D models for everything from energy analysis to building services coordination. In short, I’ve been turning buildings into data long before digital twins were fashionable.

Over the last decade, I’ve been immersed in the fascinating world of 3D laser scanning, working across the full journey from capture to visualisation and integration. Reality:Ratio was founded to bring all of these skills together, helping clients turn highly accurate digital data into clear, practical tools that actually make their lives easier. When I’m not scanning buildings or building digital workflows, you’ll usually find me hunting down great food, discovering new music, or arguing about the perfect wine-and-cheese pairing.

Consultant

Drawer and Modeller

I joined Reality:Ratio as a consultant in the summer of last year, bringing a background in architecture and digital design, with a strong focus on technical drawings, spatial modelling, and visual communication. My career has been centred around turning complex spaces into clear, accurate, and usable information — from detailed CAD drawings and 3D models through to immersive virtual environments and interactive visualisation.

Working closely with Steven, I help translate captured scan data into practical design tools for our clients, combining architectural thinking with advanced modelling, VR development, and digital production workflows. Reality:Ratio allows me to bring these disciplines together — ensuring our digital twins are not only precise, but intuitive, accessible, and ready to support real-world planning and delivery. When I’m not building digital environments, you’ll usually find me watching a great film, spending time with my family, sneaking in a round of golf, or firing up some retro games.
